The Korner is Back

By Kochie

Well, Team Pig ended the 1999 season with a bang by winning the league just as the odds makers predicted. We had a great showing of support this past year and hope the support continues in to the year 2000.

On a sad note we lost one of our most beloved fans this past season, Billy the not-so-disgruntled postal worker. He used to come to most of our games but, sadly, he was unable to attend ANY of our games in 1999. We will miss you Billy! No Billy didn't die, he got married.

The 2000 season is just around the corner and there are 3 new Team Pig members on the way. Mike Dick and his wife are expecting their 3rd baby later this summer. Maybe Mike should play hockey - this guy has only 3 shots on goal but has scored every time. Nice shooting Mike. Another Mike is also expecting. The rookie, Mike Haselmann, is expecting his first later this summer also. We knew Mike was fast on the bases at the ball field, and his wife confirmed he's also fast on the bases at home. The third is from yours truly. Noah James Koch is due to arrive in early March. Our goal was to have a baby in June, but my wife gave me a practice shot. I closed my eyes and shot. I guess I top shelved her on the glove side. She never saw it coming, no pun intended.

Team Pig has a new sty, the Sherwood Lounge. The marriage of Team Pig and Sherwood Lounge took place last year and it was a tremendous success. The postgame festivities as well as a retirement party and several unscheduled gatherings have met Team Pig's definition of success - to never run dry. Colleen and the rest of the staff at the 'Wood treated the team with respect and favor. The team hopes this will stop. The team isn't used to being treated nicely and it makes us feel uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, I hope the bartenders tell me to get stuffed (F'ed) the next time I order a beer. Then, and only then, it will feel more like Team Pig's Sty. Seriously, Thank you Colleen!

As for the rest of the team and predictions to the upcoming 2000 season, who cares? The Kochie is back so the team will win. I will leave you with a short poem however:

The Sherwood is home for a club called Team Pig,

Woody has a penis, the size of a fig.

Beers will be flowing, and brats will be eatin'.

Chicken watches Spice, I wonder what he's beatin'.

The team will win, because we never stand stills.

Except for the fat guy, the guy we call Mills.

So come out and see us, and visit our new sty.

I must now quote my friend Tak, "See ya! Bye!".
